Nothing terribly exciting to report. Just waiting like everyone else and State has been making calls to verifiers. So far none of mine have been called for the second year in row. I have been spending a lot of time on Plan B and Plan C, and have made some decent headway with a couple of NGO's that have large operations in the Middle East?
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI'm also in the Feb FSOT cohort, anxiously awaiting QEP results. :(
Just out of curiosity - are you planning your Plan B/C around the foreign service? (and applying again if this *knock on wood* doesn't work out)
I'm in the midst of making backup plans myself, and am not sure whether to plan for anything longterm. :/
Best of luck with the QEP!
Good luck to you as well.
ReplyDeleteI am actually cooling on the Foreign Service a bit. I think I have been having military flashbacks of being a technocrat and executing policy as opposed to doing my own thing.
Mostly I have been looking at enterprise development type of opportunities. After a lot of banging my head I have made some headway with several NGO's that do development work in the Middle East. Not that there isn't bureaucracy in this either.
The other thing I have been exploring is setting up an investment fund similar(but much smaller) to the Omidyar Network.
